A focus of Ms. Sykes’ approach to therapy is to explore each person’s personal interpretation and perception of life. The goal of this process is to uncover any negative misbeliefs that give fuel to unhealthy choices and behaviors, and then to replace them with more truthful and healthier belief systems that promote healing and a greater sense of well-being. She places an emphasis on healthy integration of mind, body, and spirit with a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to therapy.   

Rebecca Sykes earned an MA in Counseling, and is both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. She previously worked as a Substance Abuse Treatment Counselor at the Wilmington Treatment Center, and as a clinician with the Southeastern Center for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services. She also maintained a private faith-integrated counseling practice for a number of years.
  
Ms. Sykes’ schedule allows for daytime and early evening appointments Monday through Wednesday.
