Jan Storey’s clinical work focuses on strengthening relationships (pre-marital, marital, parent-child, etc.), depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment, phase-of-life, and personal faith. He utilizes a cognitive approach to therapy in order to explore the relationships between thought patterns, emotions and behavioral choices. Client-centered and narrative therapy components are utilized as well. Emphasis is placed on the development of conceptual frameworks as tools for the management of thought processes, and subsequently for the management of emotional and behavioral responses. Mr. Storey earned both an MEd in administration and an MA in Christian counseling. He is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and is ordained by the American Evangelistic Association. He has worked with individuals and families for over 35 years, including 14 years with Lower Cape Fear Juvenile Services. He is the former Director of Pitt Regional Juvenile Services in Greenville, N.C.
